The Dining Room

Our dining room is quite small, so there isn’t much space to overcrowd it.

As our family is inherently quite large—and we’re continuing to add kids to the count—the main focus was to have a big dining table.

Ours is vintage and comes with two extension leaves, which allow it to seat up to 12 people at the same time—assuming everyone is happy to squeeze in a little.

I love hosting friends and family, so I always need a fairly large tablecloth, as well as lots of cutlery and tableware.

I recently bought this amazing tablecloth from La DoubleJ https://www.ladoublej.com/de/wohnen/textilien/servietten/large-tablecloth-palazzo-light-pink-TBC0018COT073PAL01PI20.html , along with these beautiful placemats: https://www.ladoublej.com/de/wohnen/textilien/tischsets-und-laufer/cloud-tablemat-set-of-2-rainbow-vino-TBM0003LIN006RAI0020.html

The napkins are personalised from Zara Home.

A little hosting tip:

When we have guests, I like to order napkins with their names on them and give them to our guests as a gift at the end. Everybody has loved it so far.

Our cutlery is from Westwing. https://www.westwing.de/goldfarbenes-besteck-set-kaylah-aus-edelstahl-136721.html?simple=DEQ21WES63644-172151

The napkin rings are from a trip to Buenos Aires that my mum and stepdad went on.

The rug is also from Ruggable—I just love them because they’re so easy to clean and perfect with little kids.

Our lamp is also from Westwing. https://www.westwing.de/cluster-pendelleuchte-josie-aus-opalglas-147086.html?simple=DEQ22WES19052-187294&utm_source=google&utm_medium=sea-conversion-nbr&utm_campaign=de_performancemax_nbr_adf&utm_content=20220723054.6468791286.pla.DEQ22WES19052-187294&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20220725919&gbraid=0AAAAADZC_78_ffDSaw_uBGo04WHVyyFum&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuqCH-8malAMVaId8Bh3y1gTSEAQYAiABEgIJAvD_BwE

The curtains are custom-made and tie in beautifully with all the colours.

What is your favourite thing in your living room? Do you enjoy hosting, or not so much?

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Lots of love,

Alisa
