The Office
Our tiny office/reading room is, as you have most probably guessed by now, very colourful.
My husband likes to call it “the swimming pool” because the colour of the wall reminds him of the look of a pool.
We have a tiny desk that belonged to my grandparents, so even though you can hardly fit anything on it, I absolutely love it.
The pictures above the desk are framed New York Times newspapers. A few years ago, my mom generously invited my husband and me to join her and my stepfather on a trip to New York for her birthday.
We stayed at the beautiful Crosby Street Hotel https://www.firmdalehotels.com/hotels/crosby-street-hotel, which I can highly recommend. Every morning, they placed a copy of The New York Times outside our room. Since we only stayed there for four nights, we also framed a few different sections from the newspapers to complete the whole row. By the way, that was entirely my husband’s idea — and I love it.
The desk is placed next to the window so it gets the best light. Opposite the desk, we have our small reading corner, filled with our most beloved books, including one written by my grandfather.
The space is tiny but cosy, and our little fish rug makes it feel even cozier and more colourful.
What is important to you in your office?
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
Lots of love,
Alisa
