How Lucky Are We
We just welcomed our third daughter into this world, and ever since she was born, I can’t stop thinking about one thing: How lucky are we? Or how lucky we are…
Don’t get me wrong—I already knew how lucky my family and I were. And I don’t mean that to brag or to sound full of myself. I simply mean… how incredibly, unbelievably lucky we are.
My husband deserves a gold medal for the person he is and for everything he does to help me every single day. I’m actually restricted to talk about him as he is very private, but I hope he’ll be okay with this little mention.
Our two older girls are, quite honestly, the best kids in the world. They treat their little sister with so much love, patience, and kindness. Of course, I know there will be moments when they’ll be annoyed by the new tiny human in the house, but right now, they are simply wonderful with her.
We live in a house that we all love and are happy to call our home.
Every morning, we get the best coffee from the sweetest little French bakery, and one of the owners—the owners are Christoph and Valerie, a lovely French couple—Valérie, always writes something kind on my coffee cup.
Every. Single. Day.
She even did it when her finger was badly injured. I mean… how lucky are we?

One of my best friends moved with her family so close to us that we’re able to see each other almost every day and watch our kids grow up together. Every. Single. Day.
And honestly, this incredible human deserves a dedication post of her own. If you’re curious about who she is, go follow her on Instagram and you’ll get just a glimpse of how truly spectacular she is. https://www.instagram.com/bysophiepuhlmann?igsh=ZWJpenc3c2ZrNmhi
My other best friend moved close to a lake, and recently we managed to spend one of those beautiful mornings together—just the two of us, sitting in the sunshine by the water, talking about everything.
She understands people like no one else.
If you’ve ever wondered why the world sometimes feels so overwhelming, or why you occasionally feel a little lost, she’s the person to talk to. She’s an amazing coach, and I genuinely recommend following her and connecting with her. This isn’t an advertisement—it’s simply pure admiration.

And once again, I find myself thinking… how lucky are we?
We have wonderful family and friends around us—people we get to spend time with, who love our children as if they were their own, and who make our lives richer simply by being in them.
Of course, I’m fully aware that many things in this world are going terribly wrong. There are countless people who can’t honestly say they’re feeling lucky right now.
But in this very moment, in this season of life, I feel completely overwhelmed with gratitude and love.
So I hope that today, you can take a moment to think about something in your own life that makes you feel lucky. Hold on to that feeling. Enjoy it.
Because there will also be days when life feels heavy, and maybe those are the moments when we can look back and remember that once, we felt incredibly lucky.
I’d love to hear what makes you feel lucky.
Lots of love,
Alisa
